April Experience
The April start was difficult, with nearly 50% student absenteeism and extreme heat. Teachers were busy with corrections, and many were away for Board work, leading to a chaotic situation and safety concerns.
Adaptation Level
Parents remain largely unaware of NEP. Information reaches schools in bits and often at the last minute. Frequent changes, including textbooks and teacher deputations, disrupted teaching and completion of portions.
NEP Message
Planning must come before must come before implementation. NEP should be introduced grade-wise with at least 3 years of prep.
Final Thoughts
There is a shortage of teachers, many on contract and often delayed. Schools begin in April, but teachers. sometimes arrive only by July, making effective implementation difficult.
