Somewhere along the parenting journey, exams became a parenting national emergency. Marks are discussed like stock market crashes, relatives turn into career analysts, and children begin to feel that one report card holds the remote control to their entire future.

It doesn’t.

The world has quietly updated its software while we are still running the old version called Engineering- or-Medical 1.0. Today’s children can build apps, design games, protect forests, tell stories, analyse space data, run businesses from bedrooms, and create careers that did not exist when we were in school uniforms.

Not going abroad is not a tragedy. Missing one college is not heartbreak. Choosing the wrong course is not failure – it is research. Even Google corrects itself after wrong searches; surely children are allowed a few updates.

We learn till our last breath. Careers change, interests evolve, and success rarely walks in a straight line. Yet stress keeps growing because adults sometimes forget that childhood is not a competitive exam. Let’s not push children toward their last breath because of temporary pressure called exams. No mark sheet deserves that power.

Let’s raise curious children, not frightened toppers. Because in the long run, resilience beats and happiness has rank never required a percentage.
