CBSE is changing exams so students focus on learning, not just memorizing. About half the paper will now have multiple-choice and real-life questions that test thinking and problem-solving. Shorter answers will be more important than long ones.
Around 20–30% marks will come from projects, classwork, and oral tests done during the year. Question papers will mix MCQs, case studies, and reasoning questions. Students will also get two chances to take their board exams in one year, and they can keep the better score.
Maths and Science will include more problem-solving, while languages will test real understanding. In short, exams will now be about skills, ideas, and smart learning instead of rote learning.
