Scientists who study reading have found something interesting. Children learn better when they write by hand instead of only typing on a screen.

When you write with a pencil or pen, your brain works harder. Writing helps you:

  • Remember spellings
  • Recognise letters
  • Understand what you read

  • This does not mean computers are bad. Computers are useful for learning and projects. But writing by hand is still very important.

Teachers say children should:

  • Read books
  • Write notes by hand
  • answers Practise writing

Using both books and screens is the best way to learn.

Even today, pen and paper help young brains become smarter.
