A moonless night
a lovely sight
My heart was full, I could not speak, As tears rolled softly down my cheek. A sorrowed day, a sleepless night- The world had dimmed, devoid of light.

I long to journey to the past, To hold you in my arms at last. And if time gave a second chance, I’d never let you leave my glance. The sky is bright, yet moonless still, The air is calm, the night is chill. But though this view is pure and wide, It hurts to know you’re not beside.

You laughed with joy beneath the sun, While I, a timid child, would run. Now you’re a star in skies so high, While I remain to ask you why. But you’re not gone, not far from sight-You’re with me in this moonless night. A star that shines so I can see-

You light the dark inside of me. No time returns, no second chance, But if I had that fleeting glance, I’d hold you close through life’s short dance-

And never let you from my glow
