They say we fall in love just thrice,
the first feels pure, the first feels nice.
I was seven,small and shy,
yet his smile could light my sky.
I didn’t know what love could mean,
just feelings deep, soft, and unseen.
A heart that raced, a wish so wild,
a dream too big for a foolish little child.
I knew he’d never look my way,
yet hope refused to fade away.
I’d close my eyes and see him near,
his voice the song I longed to hear.
He never knew my name, it’s true,
but somehow felt my skies turn blue.
He lived in songs, in stars above,
the sweetest ache my first true love.
Now when I smile and think of then,
I feel that warmth come back again.
It wasn’t about being his,
but feeling magic where nothing is.
So young, yet love had found its art,
to live forever in my heart.
