At just 10 years old, Muriel Fernandes from The King’s School, Goa, is already commanding attention in the chess world with her calm focus and razor-sharp strategy. Most recently, she clinched 1st Place in the U-11 Girls category at the prestigious Late Shri Ramesh D. Pinge Memorial Goa State U-11 Open & Girls Chess Championship / Selection 2025, held from 27th to 29th June at Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir Hall, Panaji.
This win isn’t just a medal—it’s a milestone. The championship brings together Goa’s finest young chess minds, and Muriel’s victory places her at the very top of her age category in the state.
